Bookham Appoints Silicon Valley Veteran Kate Rundle as Executive Vice President and General Counsel

SAN JOSE, Calif., – November 28, 2007 –Bookham, Inc., (Nasdaq: BKHM), a leading provider of optical components, modules and subsystems, today announced the appointment of Kate Rundle to the position of executive vice president and general counsel. Ms. Rundle, who has nearly 25 years of legal experience in Silicon Valley with expertise in intellectual property, marketing, technology licensing and corporate law, will report to President and CEO Alain Couder. She succeeds Tom Kelley, who resigned in order to remain with his family in Ottawa.

Ms. Rundle joins Bookham from MIPS Technologies, Inc., where she was its general counsel and responsible for all aspects of the legal department functions, practices and policies. Prior to her role at MIPS, Ms. Rundle spent more than eight years at Sun Microsystems, Inc., in various roles including support of the company’s world wide marketing organization and most recently as deputy general counsel and managing senior director of the Global Law Network for Shared Services. Previously, Ms. Rundle served as intellectual property counsel at The 3DO Company and, for 11 years, was an attorney at Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati, where she provided IP licensing and protection and other services to a broad range of technology companies.

Ms. Rundle earned her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, San Francisco, after graduating magna cum laude from the University of California, Berkeley.
